"Waterfall"

Waterfall

There's a meeting in the forest,
Way within where woodland waters wander
Past proud pines and stoic stones,
Soothed and smoothed 'til finely honed,
As marble steps before a throne.

There's a junction in the forest,
Where seems a stream supreme in rippled splendor
Stretches forth its lucid liquid fingers,
Holding on to visions gone,
In last attempt to cling and linger.

Then at once it's grip releases,
Suddenly, as though it hears the voices
Boldly beckoning below,
"Fear not faithful falling friend,
Release thy body, free thy soul!"

In a splash there lies reunion,
Rush of life meets placid waiting waters.
Circles fade as silence slowly smooths them,
Still at last...
As withered fallen leaves go faintly floating past.

"In the Moment Before Dawn"

The Moment Before Dawn

In the moment before dawn,
As the silence fraily lingers still,
The wrens rehearse a waking song,
Just beyond the mind's subconcious window sill.

In the moment before dawn,
As the darkess slips into its sleep,
The sun unearths a lucid lawn,
Dewy-moist with visions rarely ripe to reap.

Indeed in moonlight one might see,
The heaven's palest mystery,
Yet when truth shall come a fawn,
She'll surely join the wrens in song,
And graze upon upon my fainting lawn,
As last and maiden breaths are drawn--
In the moment before dawn.
